Wine Fridges

Serious wine lovers know that there are certain ways to store wines which maintain both value and taste. White wine, which is usually served chilled, can be stored through use of wine fridges, which offer owners the ability to directly control the temperature their wine is stored at.

By using wine fridges to store your wine, you can serve white wines on a moments notice without the need for pesky and aggravating cooling techniques. You can also avoid the wine having temperature fluctuations through its life in the bottle. If wines experience too many drastic temperature variations - being stored for short periods of time in an excessively cold space then warming up again, for example - it can degrade their flavor and value over a long period of time.

The types of wine fridges which best suit a particular consumer will vary depending on factors like budget, size, space, and the number of bottles (and types of wine) you wish to store. While wines can certainly be stored naturally in temperature-regulated wine cellars, storing wines in wine fridges negates the need for an extensive, cool, dark area and instead makes the process of storing chilled wines easy and energy efficient.

Unlike normal refrigeration units, wine fridges are also custom designed to store bottles of wine, and are arranged in configurations which promote maximum storage space with minimum external volume. Small wine fridges can be purchased for at low prices, while more complicated models can have price tags that run into the thousands of dollars. A basic wine fridge should not cost more than $200-$300 AUS. The price of the wine fridge is often affected by the number of bottles it stores and by the cooling technology it uses.
